Celebrity homes for sale: Britney Spears

Hot on the outside, inside not so much...

Britney Spears re-lists her 7,453-square-foot house in the Beverly Hills, CA postal area, this time for $6.499M

Spears actually *first* listed the house in 2007 for $7,495,000 — just weeks after her Love Shack Trust purchased the house for $6,750,000. She later reduced it to $7,200,000, and then took it off the market for a year. She then re-listed the house in September 2008 for $7,900,000 buying it — for $7,900,000 and later reduced the house’s asking price to $7,195,000 before taking it off the market in March. Now, it’s back on the market for an asking price that will guarantee that she will take a loss on the house.

Built in 2001, Spears’ home has six baths, a gated motor court, a wet bar, maid’s quarters, a library, a smoking room/den (perfect for Britney, given how much she likes puffing on cigarettes), a formal dining room, a grand entrance foyer, dramatic high ceilings and carved millwork.

Other features include stone and mosaic tile floors, iron accents, and a master suite with his and hers baths, a fireplace and a “romantic loggia”. The house also has a chef’s kitchen with Viking appliances, a walk-in pantry and a nook opening to a spacious family room. Outside on the 0.37-acre (15,930-square-foot) property are a pool, a spa, and lush landscaping.

Celebrity homes for sale: LeAnn Rimes

LeAnn Rimes lists her newly built, 13,380-square-foot mansion in Franklin, Tennessee for $7.45M

In early 2008, country pop prodigy LeAnn Rimes and her backup dancer husband Dean Shermet listed their house on Hillsboro Pike in Nashville, Tennessee for around $2,400,000. Then word got out that the Grammy award winning singer and her happy footed husband were spending big bucks building a massive mansion in a guard-gated and Medieval themed community in Franklin, TN called Avalon. Visitors who pass through the main gates to Avalon are greeted by a large replication of King Arthur's sword driven into the stone and all the streets in the community have names like Lady of the Lake Lane and Road of the Round Table.

The traditional-style mansion has 23 rooms!
Features in the mansion include six full baths, three half baths, a second kitchen, a media room, custom woodworking, five-plank hand-distressed wood floors, custom master closets and guest quarters.
Outdoor features include a saltwater pool, according to listing information.

Rimes built the house last year and has only lived in it a few months!

Celebrity homes for sale: Joan Rivers

Comedienne Joan Rivers (76) has two properties currently for sale.
A beautiful Connecticut estate and a posh Manhattan apartment.

The 75.92-acre spread has a 5,730-square-foot country house on it. Features in the four-bedroom, stone and clapboard house include high ceilings (nine-foot ceilings, according to listing information but 22-foot ceilings, according to a 2003 Architectural Digest article), four and a half Carrara marble baths and an eat-in kitchen.

And this is where she cooks? I don't think the lady eats at all!

Other features include 100-year-old chestnut beams, four wood-burning fireplaces, skylights, a massive country kitchen, and nine French doors, according to Architctural Digest. Outdoor features on the estate include an in-ground swimming pool, a pool house, a caretaker’s cottage, a pond, a barn/garage, and a guest house.

Mirror, mirror on the wall... wouldn't you just love to see yourself naked from every possible angle everytime you stepped out of the bathtub?

Rivers bought the property for $1,438,400 in 2000, and then gutted the existing house on the property. The rebuilt house was featured in the February 2003 issue of Architectural Digest

Cozy?
Other features in the 11-room unit include four and a half baths, reception rooms, a two-story gallery, a light-flooded living room with original architectural detail, 23-foot-high ceilings, original boiserie (that’s ornate and intricately wood-carved paneling to those who have never taken French!), parquet-de-Versailles flooring, and original marble fireplace surrounds.

The condo also has a formal dining room with 18th-century panels and an ornately paneled, corner library, both of which overlook a south-facing terrace with city and park views. The master suite looks out over a second terrace with Central Park views

On a personal level I feel about Joan's apartment pretty much as I feel about her - completely over-decorated and charmless!

Even though you cover the walls with gold and paint the sky in the ceiling... doesn't make it beautiful! But that's just my opinion...
