HGTV Dream Home 2009

Sonoma, California

HGTV's Dream Home 2009 is a beautiful Victorian-style farmhouse in the Sonoma Valley.

The Talk of the Block

It’s the kind of front entrance most homeowners only dream of. A myrtle-lined front walkway, shaded by California oak trees, leads to a gracious wraparound porch and a classic custom-built front door. The picture-perfect scene is complete with oversized, lantern-style hanging lights that run the length of the porch and brighten the entire corner as the sun sets. In a town like this, people are always walking down the sidewalks with their kids, with their dogs, and a front porch is very much about community and conversation.

With modern all-weather furnishings and an outdoor kitchen, the courtyard space will encourage relaxed social gatherings.
A soothing blue palette and intriguing artwork prove a winning combination in this elegant gathering space.

Shiny accents

Vibrant, henna-colored walls serve as the backdrop for a comfortable dining space that invites guests to linger long after dessert.

Twin refrigerators, two dishwashers, two wine cabinets and two islands(!) make entertaining a crowd effortless in this traditional-meets-modern cooking space

The bright and cozy dining area proves ideal for casual meals.

Locall made art, comfortable leather sofas and rustic wood furnishings make for a cozy, retro retreat.

Decoration idea: a plate of freshly picked figs.

The Laundry Room
The small, light-filled laundry room serves as command central with lots of storage and practical solutions. You can find some great ideas here!

The Guest Bedroom
A happy corner bedroom, which boasts a great view of Sonoma's rolling hills, becomes the perfect home away from home for visiting family and friends.
The color scheme is yellow and white with splashes of red and black.

The Kids' Bedroom
A vintage-style sleeping space is full of cool toys and childhood treasures.

The Master Bedroom
A vibrant green and creamy white fabrics paired with hints of crystal and glass transform this sleeping space into a hotel-style suite.

Fresh flowers is a quick and easy way to decorate your room. Don't just place them in your living room or dining room. They look great in a bedroom as well.

The Master Closet
Fit for a fashionista, the walk-in closet struts its stuff with wall-to-wall storage options
The Master Bathroom
Dream Home’s most dramatic space, the spa-style bathroom provides a great escape. This is my favorite space in this whole house!

  1. HGTV Board: PLEASE CREATE A CONTEMPORARY DREAM HOME FOR 2010, NOT MODERN BUT CONTEMPORARY. WE'VE BEEN SEEING THE SAME TYPE OF DESIGNING OR VERY LOOK-ALIKE HOMES. THANK YOU.
